SF Energy Watch Goals
Committed to Energy Efficiency
The primary purpose of SF Energy Watch is to reduce energy use in San Francisco. The City and County of San Francisco has adopted long-range plans to make San Francisco more environmentally sustainable by developing initiatives that promote clean energy, energy efficiency and the reduction of carbon emissions. As part of these efforts, SF Energy Watch has set the following electricity and gas saving goals for the 2013-2014 program cycle.
Energy saving goals set for the SF Energy Watch 2013-2014 program cycle:
- Reduce peak electricity and gas savings load by 4,319 peak kilowatts (kW)
- Reduce electricity use by 28,560,240 kilowatt hours (kWh)
- Reduce gas usage by 10,000 therms
San Francisco is habitat for 800,000 people – meeting needs for space to work, play, and learn; for food, water, and air; for community with local flora and fauna. SF Environment provides support for urban agriculture and forestry and green buildings, helping residents and businesses harness environmental opportunities.
