Environment Commission Subcommittee: Policy
The Policy Subcommittee oversees long-term planning and policy development for the department, including the assessment of environmental conditions and the development, updating, and review of plans for the long-term environmental sustainability of the city. The subcommittee focuses on the goal of zero waste to landfill by year 2020, and explores the issues of water conservation and toxics reduction. It also works with the Operations Subommittee and the director of the department on the restructuring of environmental programs and activities among city agencies and departments.
The Policy Subcommittee meets on the second Monday of the month at 5:00 P.M. with the exception of October when it meets on the fourth Monday at 5:00 P.M.
