Choose Ugly Fruit

Choose ugly* fruit and veggies.

Bent carrots? Bulbous peppers?

"Ugly" produce is at risk of being discarded by markets because it may not meet the size, shape, or other aesthetic guidelines of retail stores. Rescue imperfect produce by choosing fruits and vegetables that might otherwise get composted or sent to landfill.

Visit your local farmer's market for deliciously different produce. Farmer's markets often sell imperfect produce, like bruised apples, at a discounted price.

Also known as "different and delicious."
