PG&E Interest-Free Energy Efficiency Financing
PG&E offers 0% interest loans for replacing old and worn-out equipment with energy-efficient models, and sets loan repayment terms in line with monthly energy savings from the improvement. Loans range from $5,000 to $4,000,000 per premise, with a period of up to 10 years.
Inflation Reduction Act
The §179D Energy Efficient Commercial Building Deduction is significantly changing for retrofits to commercial buildings. Starting in 2023, the maximum §179D deduction will increase to $5.00 per square foot for projects meeting prevailing wage and apprenticeship requirements. The deduction can be taken every three tax years, and deductions from improvements to facilities owned by tax-exempt entities may be transferrable to project design professionals.
