What are some safer alternatives to disinfecting with Bleach?
Disinfectants are necessary for some situations, but most people overuse them. Remember that most germs (>99%) can be removed with a simple cleaning.
For example, use a mixture of white vinegar and warm water to clean any surface. You can also use a mixture of liquid soap (without triclosan or antibacterial ingredients), water, and 2 capfuls of hydrogen peroxide (3%). Also, cleaning with a microfiber cloth is a very effective way to wipe up dirt and germs.
Bleach kills most germs only if you leave the liquid on a surface for at least 2 minutes.
