[Commendation]

Resolution commending Ann Kelly, San Francisco Department of the Environment Senior Manager, Energy Programs for her service to the Department and the San Francisco Commission on the Environment.

WHEREAS, Ann Kelly was instrumental in developing and implementing San Francisco's Energy Efficiency Programs since 2001; and,

WHEREAS, Ann Kelly championed and promoted energy savings through outstanding program management and program design for the Power Savers Program (2001-2002), the Peak Energy Program (2003-2006), and the San Francisco Energy Watch Program (2006-Present); and,

WHEREAS, Ann Kelly’s efforts were instrumental in achieving over $37.5 million for incentives that were paid out for nearly 15,000 energy efficiency projects in commercial and multifamily buildings; and

WHEREAS, Ann Kelly’s experience and invaluable dedication contributed to reducing over 92,000 tons of carbon emissions in San Francisco, the equivalent of removing over 14,700 cars from the road, and

WHEREAS, Ann Kelly has been a dedicated advocate to promote healthy communities through energy efficiency programs contributing to the closure of the Hunters Point Power Plant located in the Bayview-Hunters Point neighborhood; and

WHEREAS, Ann Kelly has been a tireless negotiator and has overcome numerous obstacles to successfully create a unique energy efficiency program implemented by local government; and,

WHEREAS, Ann Kelly has managed the most successful public-private partnership, San Francisco Energy Watch Program, and advanced performance expectations to a new level far exceeding similar programs state-wide; and,

WHEREAS, Ann Kelly has nurtured a very diverse team of dedicated professionals to excel while she also championed women working in the sustainability and environmental fields; and,

WHEREAS, Ann Kelly is recognized for her commitment to the City and County of San Francisco's Department of the Environment Energy Efficiency program; now therefore, be it,

RESOLVED, The San Francisco Commission on the Environment and the Department of the Environment, with our respect and affection, commend, honor, and thank Ann Kelly for her contribution to the environmental movement in San Francisco; now therefore, be it,

FURTHER RESOLVED, That the San Francisco Commission on the Environment and the Department of the Environment wish Ann Kelly the very best in her future endeavors.
