RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING MONICA FISH UPON HER RETIREMENT AS COMMISSION SECRETARY WITH THE SAN FRANCISCO COMMISSION ON THE ENVIRONMENT

WHEREAS, Over the course of a decade, as Commission Secretary for the San Francisco Commission on the Environment, Monica Fish has been an outstanding public servant and has worked tirelessly for the San Francisco Department of the Environment and the entire City and County of San Francisco family; and,

WHEREAS, Monica Fish began with the San Francisco Commission on the Environment with a long and distinguished professional track record having previously earned a Bachelor of Arts in Public Administration from the University of San Francisco and having worked for various other City and County of San Francisco public agencies including the Department of Planning, the Office of the Controller and the Office of the Clerk of the Board of Supervisors; and,

WHEREAS, Monica Fish began her service for the San Francisco Commission on the Environment on January 24, 2005 where she worked diligently and faithfully until her retirement in June 2015; and,

WHEREAS, Monica Fish, as Commission Secretary, was responsible for providing administrative support to the San Francisco Commission on the Environment and its committees, the San Francisco Urban Forestry Council and its committees, the Biodiesel Access Task Force, the Peak Oil Preparedness Task Force, the Community Choice Aggregation Task Force and for ensuring the San Francisco Department of the Environment as a whole complied with reporting requirements; and,

WHEREAS, Monica Fish earned the esteem of her colleagues at the Department of the Environment and the respect of the members of the Commission on the Environment for being utterly reliable, knowledgeable, detail oriented, and for knowing the ins-and-outs of the role of commission secretary and the rules governing policy bodies in the City and County of San Francisco; and,

WHEREAS, Monica Fish has made significant contributions to the San Francisco Department of the Environment and it is recognized that she has implemented a number of systems and procedures that have improved the functioning of the Commission and the Department; and,

WHEREAS, The Commission on the Environment and the Department of the Environment would like to extend a commendation for her outstanding service and dedication; and

WHEREAS, The Commission on the Environment and the Department of the Environment hereby signify their appreciation for all of the work that Monica Fish performed and wishes her the best of luck in her retirement and continued travels; now therefore, be it,

RESOLVED, That the San Francisco Commission on the Environment and the Department of the Environment recognize Monica Fish’s contributions to the Department of the Environment, and wish her the very best in her future endeavors.

 I hereby certify that this Resolution was adopted by the Commission on the Environment at its meeting on January 26, 2016.
