[Resolution Commending Sandy Sherwin]

Resolution commending Sandy Sherwin for her service and dedication to the San Francisco Urban Forestry Council.

WHEREAS, Sandy Sherwin has been an outstanding public servant and has worked diligently during her career to support and protect San Francisco’s urban forest; and,

WHEREAS, Sandy Sherwin was appointed by the San Francisco Board of Supervisors on March 15, 2011 to fill a seat on the San Francisco Urban Forestry Council representing a non-profit organization involved in urban forestry and was subsequently reappointed to the same position in 2013 and 2015; and

WHEREAS, Sandy Sherwin joined the San Francisco Urban Forestry Council with a distinguished academic background having previously earned a Bachelor of Arts in Asian Studies-Japanese/Economics from Colgate University, a Master of Science from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst and a Certificate in Land Use and Environmental Planning from the University of California, Davis; and

WHEREAS, Sandy Sherwin brought invaluable expertise to the San Francisco Urban Forestry Council with a professional track record as a Project Manager and District and Operations Manager for reputable organizations and having established her own consulting firm to promote and engage in environmental redevelopment activities in San Francisco; and

WHEREAS, Sandy Sherwin has earned and maintained the esteem of her colleagues on the San Francisco Urban Forestry Council and the residents of the City and County of San Francisco environmental community for her significant contributions to the health and well-being of the San Francisco urban forest; now, therefore be it

RESOLVED, The Urban Forestry Council extends its deepest gratitude to Sandy Sherwin for her time and commitment to improving San Francisco’s urban forest; and be it

FURTHER RESOLVED, That the Urban Forestry Council wishes Sandy Sherwin well in all her future endeavors.

I hereby certify that this Resolution was adopted at the Urban Forestry Council’s Regular Meeting on March 25, 2016.
