The Southeast Food Access Working Group (SEFA) Food Guardians project advocates for easy access to healthy food in the Southeast area of the City, focusing on the Bayview Hunters Point neighborhood.

SEFA encourages and provides educational workshops on the healthy preparation and regular consumption of healthy foods, and monitors the availability of healthy foods sold by neighborhood grocery stores. SEFA Food Guardians are also helping to develop and maintain community gardens.

SF Environment provided an Environmental Justice grant to support SEFA’s Food Guardians efforts to improve local access to nutritious, affordable food in the Southeast area of the City.
